From Emergence to Coherence

As 2025 comes to a close, I wanted to pause and share a brief reflection on what has been an unusually rich year for JupiterBlock Ventures, one defined less by linear execution and more by emergence, convergence, and alignment. What unfolded over the past twelve months was not a single project, but the gradual coming-into-being of an ecosystem. As a reminder, we started the year as JB Advisory Services SEZC, the company I set up in April 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 lock-down in Cayman, and we ended the year as JupiterBlock Ventures, part of a larger ecosystem of value in the Island Network.

Q1 2025: Foundations & Research. The year began with our participation in the Infinita pop-up city in Roatán, Honduras, the launch of the DAO345 Foundation, alongside early research initiatives and the formation of DeSci and institutional alliances. This phase was about asking deeper questions: how knowledge is produced, how institutions evolve, and how emerging technologies can be aligned with long-term public value rather than short-term extraction. Alongside the emergence of solutions to the Metacrisis from the longevity and biology of aging course organized by Denisa Lepădatu, DAO345 Foundation quickly became a research and experimentation layer, quietly laying groundwork for intelligent organizations.

Q2 2025: World-Building & Community. In the second quarter, something more cultural and creative began to take shape, the Solarpunk Futures Universe. This included the early emergence of the Magical Earth Academy, exploring new models of education at the intersection of science, art, and systems thinking, and the Island Network, reimagining communities, jurisdictions, and coordination in a networked world, and giving offshore a new narrative alongside such centers of innovation as Florianópolis in Brazil. At the same time, we experimented with AI art, storytelling, and community-building at Ipe City, blending creative practice with real-world collaboration and place-based presence. This was a reminder that futures are not only designed, they are felt and lived. Special thanks to our friends at Founder Haus in Florianópolis for teaching product velocity and resilience for founders.

Q3 2025: Deep Work & Strategic Realignment. Q3 marked a more introspective phase. After EthCC, through the first Sanctuary in Sicily and collaboration with Andrej Berlin from Deep Work, we spent time with founders, builders, and operators in focused, off-the-record environments, listening, observing, and refining a clearer understanding of where value was actually being created. It was during this period that a deeper venture capital pivot crystallized, away from fragmented support and toward venture building, capital alignment, and institutional architecture. Not as a departure from earlier work, but as its logical continuation.

Q4 2025: Acceleration & Convergence. The year concluded with Island Ventures being accelerated by VC Lab (Cohort 19). This milestone was less about validation and more about convergence: the alignment of legal engineering, research, culture, capital, and governance into a coherent venture-building platform. By this point, a Venture Builder working group had naturally emerged, anchored by Ixian Group for legal and institutional design, and supported by a growing circle across research, technology, art, and regenerative innovation.

Looking Ahead. What 2025 revealed is that none of these initiatives stand alone. Together, they form a living system, one that is now ready to move from emergence to coherence, from experimentation to compounding impact. In 2026, we will focus on:

• venture and institutional architecture,

• capital formation and fund development,

• research and IP that scales beyond individual effort, and of course

• supporting founders and ecosystems ready for the next level of maturity.
